Programme Office Governance Manager

6 months initially based in Reading with some remote working.

Are you a Programme Office governance specialist who can demonstrate experience in applying Programme Office principles and governance methodologies to large programmes? Can you offer excellent Risk and Issue management in large programmes, maintaining registers and logs, and highlighting actions to a Programme Manager? Even better if you have done this in an IT/Telco Managed Service environment interfacing with customer PMOs.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • To gather, analyse and present accurate and timely all required information on the status of the programme(s) to the respective Programme Teams in order to provide a meaningful summary of the Programme Status
  • To maintain the Programme Risk Register and Programme Issue Log
  • To proactively monitor the programme by working alongside the core Programme
  • Team, highlighting Risks and Issues to the Programme Manager and providing advice on what action to take
  • Attend key Programme Status Reviews and take a record of the meeting, highlighting all risks/issues identified, decisions made and actions taken
  • Interfacing with the Customer’s Programme Office for Joint Governance including Risk/Issue/Change Management and Customer-facing Status Reports
  • Analyse Lessons Learned from the programme for onward consideration for future Programmes
  • To identify and implement opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Programme and the wider Programme Office

Person Specification/Qualifications

  • Established PMO / Governance Analyst with strong and well-proven credentials
  • Specific experience of effective Risk and Issue Management in large programmes
  • Highly driven and dynamic personality with a strong presence
  • Good MS Office skills including confident use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Professional, hard-working, proactive and highly organised with an ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy with a process-oriented mind-set
  • Enthusiastic team player with good communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, outgoing and delivery focused
  • A robust personality, able to cope in a high pressure, dynamic working environment
  • Willingness to develop new collateral and bring innovation to the organisation
  • Experience in MoR, Prince2, MSP, PMP, ITL and/or P3O is advantageous
