Software Test Analyst


Our prestigious client design and manufacture bespoke components for the automotive sector based in Norfolk. They are looking to engage a Software Test Analyst, to provide a professional software testing service through planning, designing, developing, and supporting test activities.

Software Test Analyst will use a variety of commercially available tools as well as bespoke solutions to implement test cases on Embedded and PC Software as used in bf1systems products, ensuring they meet the customer and company requirements, in a professional and accurate manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Test Embedded and Windows PC software as produced by the company for the automotive and motorsport industry
  • Develop Test Strategies and Test Plans
  • Design tests and execute manual test and validation plans
  • Document and report test results to the software development team and compile and track changes for each release
  • Document each release in line with ISO9001 and communicate these releases to internal teams
  • Work closely with the Software Developers on new features and functions
  • Write and execute automated test scripts using Python
  • Report and track bugs and help build up a regression test plan
  • Assess software changes and impact to determine test plan
  • Estimate effort required to perform testing duties


    Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Experience in manual testing of embedded software and of PC software
  • Experience of analysis of specifications and requirements to design test cases
  • Experience of writing test cases and carrying out functional testing
  • Carrying out regression testing and risk-based testing


  • Experience of automating PC Software testing
  • Experience of automating Embedded software testing
  • Use of VSTS/DevOps for bug tracking
  • Use of VSTS/DevOps for creating and executing test suites and cases
  • Use of Electronic lab equipment
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Writing automated test scripts
  • Load testing methodologies
  • Experience of CAN, and relevant tools
  • Experience of the automotive/motorsport domain
