World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire (the role will be a split between working from home and onsite) is currently looking to recruit a Group Events Manager Subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract.


Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)

Hourly Rate: The Company are offering excellent rates


Security Information:  Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years).

Group Events Manager Job Description:

Support the Group and UK strategy by the development and delivery of a fully integrated events programme. Establish excellent relationships with stakeholders, delivering high-quality content and consistent messaging.


  • Develop and implement the annual events strategy, ensuring that all events are delivered to a high standard.
  • Review and assess current event management processes and implement new solutions where needed.
  • Implement new event management software and app.
  • Create event briefs, using objectives to establish best format for event (Virtual or face to face).
  • Project manage all events ensuring that critical paths are adhered to and all stakeholders are fully briefed throughout the process.
  • Engage with all relevant stakeholders and external suppliers on current projects to facilitate ongoing management.
  • Manage event supplier contracts such as hotels and venues to ensure best rates are negotiated and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Provide post event analysis and reports to ensure that events are developed year on year.
  • In partnership with the communications team, deliver engaging event communication plans.

    Skillset/experience required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the events industry.

  • Ability to work in an international and matrix organisational environment.
  • Effective networking skills.
  • There will be both local and international travel.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
