Warton 
Initial 12 month contract 
£34.77 per hour PAYE/£44.69 per hour UMB

A role has arisen that will involve the development of simulation products in support of aircrew training for an aircraft.
Your team will develop and deliver synthetic training devices ranging from desktop based Avionics demonstrators to Full Mission Simulators.
Your work will typically involve investigations into aircraft behaviour to determine synthetic representation, documentation of all design considerations, production of verification documentation. 
You will ideally have Avionic Cockpit Group experience with the ability to lead avionics systems engineering elements of the simulation design to ensure look, feel and behaviour remain consistent with the aircraft baseline.
You will be expected to work within a team of Systems Engineers developing simulator capability through effective communication with the ATSS System & Software Development Team.

The successful candidate will ideally possess a number of the following skills;
• Key knowledge of Avionics and an understanding of the cockpit arrangement & behaviour
• Familiarity with requirements capture and traceability tools/techniques.
• Previous experience of avionic systems or experience of working with a Cockpit would be desirable.

You will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.  The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Work effectively as a Team member within a Team of engineers to design, develop, test, document, configure and deliver software simulations.
• Develop all products to agreed standards and procedures using the specified tools and maintain product quality during development.
• Test products sufficiently to ensure minimal, or ideally no re-work is required due to incorrect implementation.
• Ensure that source information, advice and validation is provided from the aircraft subject matter experts during all stages of development.
• Ensure a good working knowledge of Software Development Plan (SDP), Software Test Plan (STP) and other documents within the Aircrew Training Simulation Systems.

Key responsibilities include:
• Requirements management, from Customer Bid to Acceptance
• System Design & Development 
• System Qualification and Customer acceptance testing 
• Change tracking and Query investigation

Additional Information:
There will be a requirement for periods of time to be spent working at Main Operating Bases both in the UK and Overseas to support the Export Nations.
This role often requires familiarisation with the Cockpit and as such, all Systems Engineers will fly the simulators where required during investigations and qualification.
